We have all experienced computer crashes, but imagine what happens when an entire network crashes. Making software more reliable prevents security breaches and network-propagated viruses. SAI is working with suppliers of tools that test network vulnerabilities. These tools are made up of sophisticated software that makes about-to-be-deployed network software better and more robust. The earlier a bug can be detected, the cheaper it will be to fix.
The buzz is “fuzzing” – bombarding the large software development projects that will run our future networks with hundreds of thousands of intelligently targeted anomalous test inputs.
Making sure the crash happens in the lab before it hits your network.
